Operations and Technology Risk and Control (OTRC) currently has an opportunity for a highly motivated, career oriented individual as the Analyst for its Operations and Technology Risk Analytics team. The position will be responsible for continuing to enhance the O&T Quantitative Risk Program which transforms disparate O&T risk data into meaningful O&T risk intelligence. This analyst will be part of a team of technical specialist to support the use of advanced quantitative modeling techniques to analyze risk data, establish a quantitative infrastructure to effectively source and model risk data, design and build reusable quantitative models to evaluate and identify risk patterns, conduct predictive analysis, and enable automated linking of key risk data elements across disparate data sources. In addition, this analyst will be responsible for supporting the execution of the Advanced Analytics strategy within OTRC, using tools such as Datameer, Revolution R, SAS, and Cognos. The candidate will assist in the development of analytical models to draw insights from source systems containing different types of risk and reference data.


Job Responsibilities

- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for Big Data analytics, to partner and strategize with OTRC stakeholders in developing analytical routines to achieve their objectives. Clearly articulate and present design solutions, rationale issues and tradeoffs

- Work with domain leads and technologists to identify data relevant for analysis.

- Work with large data sets from disparate sources to understand linkages and to develop use cases.

- Assist in the development of risk management predictive / analytical models to help management identify, measure and manage risk.

- Direct contributor to predictive / analytical modeling architectures, modeling standards, reporting, and data analysis methodologies.

- Create presentations that will clearly state objectives, approaches and benefits of case studies and the ability to articulate results to stakeholders and senior management.

- Collaborate with other OTRC stakeholders to integrate data mining results with existing systems and platforms.

- Implement quality assurance best practices for predictive modeling/analytics services and ensure data quality standards are being met.

- Adhere to change control and testing processes for modifications to analytical models.

- Ability to work well in a team environment given competing priorities and to think outside of the box to come up with innovative solutions.

- Demonstrates strong judgment, political astuteness, and sensitivity to cultural diversity.


**Qualifications**


+ Minimum: BS/BA degree, preferably in a quantitative field(Science/Technology/Engineering/Statistics), or equivalent experience required

+ 6-10 years of experience with SQL and/or SAS -- other statistical and data management software knowledge a plus.

+ 6-10 years of experience with Microsoft Access, Excel, Visual Basic, SharePoint (Intermediate to Expert level)

+ 6-10 years of experience in data manipulation and performance reporting

+ Experience with data mining tools, including IBM SPSS, Revolution R, and/or Python

+ Excellent quantitative and analytic skills; ability to derive patterns, trends and insights

+ Strong understanding of predictive / analytical modeling techniques, theories, principles, and practices.

+ Experience in machine learning techniques, statistical modeling, graph modeling and text mining routines is preferred

+ Knowledge of Business Intelligence and / or Data Visualization tools such as IBM Cognos BI (Framework Manager, Report Studio, Metric Studio,TM1), MicroStrategy or Tableau

+ Knowledge of Hadoop or other Big Data tools is a plus

+ Self- starter with ability to self- direct as needed and multi-task against tight deadlines

+ Proven ability to quickly create mock-ups, management reports, strategy slide decks, dashboards or advanced visualizations that tell a coherent story.

+ Strong familiarity and experience with data mining which includes data quality assessments, variable creation and selection.

+ Must have strong interpersonal skills to interface with all levels of management, as well as good analytical and communication skills.
